Ok Let's keep it simple.

Run the "configure" program (I has a nice "run me" icon)
This is simply a shell script that will setup some nice mime-type stuff.

The apps in Helpers/ are just there as part of the install process.
I couldn't find an easy way to hack into the Filetypes database, so I wrote
some quick tools to do it. If you want them, the look at the source.
After the configure script is done you can delete that folder if you need to.

Hopefully runnnig "configure" should just work for you. If it doesn't
 then email me at zodsoft@kagi.com

Once that's done you can copy Snips and SnipsSetup to where-ever you want.

After that you should run SnipsSetup to match your drive letters to
their labels (the name of the drive under BeOS).
The best thing to do is mount all your drives (Right click on the desktop
and then Select "Mount" -> "All Disks")
Then double-click SnipsSetup, and click the "Add" button put in the letter of
your drive, (eg "C" for your main windows drive) and then chose the name of
the drive from the "select" popup. Click "OK" and then repeat for any other
 drives you use.

Hopefully now everything is ready.
Find a nice shortcut on your windows drive and double click on it.
If it's a shortcut to something Tracker can open (eg a Text File or Folder)
then it should open. If it's an executable you'll get a message from Tracker
saying it doesn't know how to open "Program.EXE" (or whatever).

NOTE: BeOS really doesn't handle FAT/FAT32 disks very well. Although the
configure script tells it that ".lnk" files are Windows Shortcuts, you won't
see that appear in the "Kind" column nor will you see the nice icon.
This appears to be a problem with the FAT filesystem code in BeOS, as Tracker
and Disco both suffer this problem, so it's clear that the BeOS isn't giving
out too much info about files on DOS disks, even if it can launch them.
